Wow my own website!. My good friend, pro guitar player and web genius Andy 'C' talked me into this idea a couple of years ago. I fought it at first as I just didn’t think I would have the time to maintain it. He offered to do it all for me and all I do is write this little page. That’s it! Email him the odd photo, bit of blurb and voila he puts all this together. The man is a genius. I am really pleased with this site.
I have to say that I still really love playing the drums. It is much more of a lifestyle than a job. Sure I have had ups and downs, been on tours I hated, been on tours I wished would never end. Made records I loved, some I loathed. As long as I play I am happy.
I love my studios and I am blessed with having great people take care of things for me when I am away. I thank them all deeply and respectfully. I have made many friends around the world over the years and not too many enemies I hope. My feet are still very firmly on the ground.
For anyone reading this that wants to get in touch then use email: info@simonash.com Always stick something relevant in the subject box and never send attachments as the emails will always be rejected before they are opened. My webmaster will read them all and pass the relevant ones onto me.
Old friends, band members, producers, roadies, current students and ex-students you are all welcome to contact whenever you wish. I have no grudges with anyone in music. Life is way too short and drums has been my life. I gave up trying to be the best drummer in the world years ago. Being a good solid professional drummer and decent person was more important to me.
Anyone offering me work can get in touch. Like any musician I am always looking for new people to play with, new places to go, new studios to visit. My childish excitement never seems to leave me. I just enjoy the feeling that hitting a drum gives me.
So please enjoy the site, have a look around and I hope you find it interesting.
Happy Drumming
Simon
